Write your secret Key or shared Combination in box 1 (yellow). To display the characters, check Show. As you type, a text below will tell you the strength of the key based on simple rules. Make sure to use $ymbol$, numb3rs, caPiTals, unusual words and mispelingss. You will need to enter your Key to unlock or sign messages. To send a short locked message, leave this box empty.

To display the matching Lock in box 3 (green), click Make Lock. You can then email it by clicking Open Email.

You will also paste someone's Lock here in order to lock a message with this person's lock or verify a text stamped by this person.

To make a shared Combination from your Key and someone's Lock, place your Key in this box and the Lock in box 3, then click Merge K&L

To lock a text: Enter it into box 2 below (yellow). Write a shared Combination or the recipient's Lock in box 1, depending on the type of locking you want. Then click the Lock button.

If box 1 is empty, a prompt will ask for a Short msg Key (message length limited to 57 ASCII characters, non-ASCII characters use 6 spaces each, so avoid using accents, umlauts, etc.).

The locked text will appear in box 3 (green). You can send it with your default email client by clicking Open Email below. SMS App opens your default messaging app; you need to copy into the clipboard before clicking it.

To stamp a text with your key: Make sure your Key is in box 1 at the top (yellow). Then enter into box 2 below the text to be signed and click Stamp. The stamp will appear in box 3. Copy it and send it along with the plain text. Ths can also be emailed with the Open Email button.

To unlock a locked text: Paste it into box 3 below, make sure your Key or shared Combination is in box 1, depending on the type of locked text. The tags tell you what is needed: shared combination for combination-locked message (msc), your Key for anonymous locked message (msl), or none for short messages (no tags). Then click Unlock. In the case of short messages, a prompt will ask for the key. The plain text will appear in box 2.

To verify the stamp accompanying a text: Make sure the text is in the Plain Text box above (box 2) and the signer's Lock is in box 1. Then paste the stamp into box 3 below and click Verify. A popup will confirm whether or not the stamp has been verified.

This is also where someone's Lock must be placed in order to make a shared Combination.
